Meeting Summary: The meeting began with approval of the November 21, 2024 meeting minutes. The Executive Director provided a report, followed by financial and administrative updates, including budget development and a diversity update. The Legal team gave updates on officer recertification, physical and behavioral health standards, and the agency certification initiative. The Commission also discussed draft standards on use of force, use of force reporting, and officer code of conduct.

The Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission was established as part of the criminal justice reform legislation enacted in Chapter 253 of the Acts of 2020. Our mission is to improve policing and enhance public confidence in law enforcement by implementing a fair process for mandatory certification, discipline, and training for all peace officers in the Commonwealth.
