DESCRIPTION:Meeting Summary:   \nThe Executive Director acknowledged the recent line-of-duty death of Massachusetts State Police Trooper Kevin Trainor\, as well as the recent shooting on Memorial Drive\, which are reminders of the hazards inherent in the law enforcement profession. He also acknowledged Peace Officer Memorial Day\, which was May 15.  \nThe Executive Director then provided an update on this year’s recertification cycle\, provided a reminder of the requirements for individuals working details\, and shared that the POST Commission sent a notification to law enforcement agencies about Consular Notification on behalf of the State Department.  \nThe Finance and Administration Division provided a financial and administrative update\, including information about the expected FY27 budget and recent promotions and hirings.  \nLegal Division staff presented the revised Internal Affairs and Officer Complaint Investigation Procedures standard as part of the agency certification initiative. The standard was originally presented in January 2026\, and a revised version was presented in March 2026. Staff also shared that the Commission has preliminarily approved seven of the eight statutory agency certification standards\, besides the Internal Affairs and Officer Complaint Investigation Procedures standard.
